13 pin euro plug

My tow car has a 13 pin euro socket. My caravan which doesn't, is connected with an adaptor. This has been working ok till recently but now the connections are hit and miss. I've checked the original caravan plugs and they are ok but if I waggle the 13 pin plug while its in the socket the connection makes and breaks. I'd like to inspect the electrical connections inside the plug but cannot see any way of opening it. Can anyone tell me how do I do take the plug apart?

If you are going to those lengths, then may i suggest you wire a 13 pin plug on the van.
You can either wire both cables into the "euro" plug or rewire back to the junction box with one 13 core cable.
Have a search there are lots of topics on this.

Hi Mat, thanks, yes I can see where you're coming from with that suggestion but the advantage of having the adaptor is I can also tow with my other car which has the old style 2 plug system. The other little problem I've got is time or the lack of in this case cus I'm of to Italy in two days time and I'm only pannicking a little bit haha.
