My experience of cheap drills, both Homsbase and Woolworths, with two batteries, is that they barely last a year before they won't raise or lower four steadies without running out of charge. I bit the bullet and bought a Dewalt.

I agree with vernon - best value at the moment I think is Makita 18V with 2 batteries
 
I got one from Lidl some years ago and its still strong.Dont be put off by the price , i get a lot of tools from there and find them very good.
