200061 Thule Omnivent

Hi all

Just fitted a brand new (23/06/2023) a 200061 Thule Omnivent 40 x 40 Translucent 12v Ventilator (Touch Control Retail boxed) to my van.
From the very first attempt after power up, it did not work and did the following:

Symptoms:
Press S2 and it starts on comfort mode and runs no problem. (very slow speed)
Press S1, it speeds up then after less than a minute stops and two (or more) LED's flash for a while then dead!

The caravan supply shop so far has not offered and advice and Thule Customer Support do not work Friday's so I muust wait till Monday.
We leave in a week for Europe!

Any ideas or similar expereinces?

Back to the shop for a refund I think woukd be my coursevof action!

Don't let them try and say its not their problem, or they will send it back to the manufacturer. They are responsible and if it isn't working as it should then they are the ones who are legally liable.
I would be inclined to video it so you have something to show the shop.

We had the exact same problem with our Omnivent many years ago. Apparently the issue is the control board for the switches. I was told that the cause was damp sealed into the PB board. We had 3 Omnivents fitted before we got one that worked continuously. As Mr Plod suggests return the unit and next time before fitting the replacement test the unit first.

OK, Back from a great trip to Germany. Broadway Leisure and Thule were extremely helpful. First they sent a new board, then finally a whole new motor and fan. It all worked well over the German trip so all I can say is Cheers Broadway leisure. BTW using the Le Shuttle train is easy as pie, literally drive on and off 35 minutes later in France. Only time I got out the car was for a security check on the gas bottle to make sure it was closed.
