Hi our shower mixer tap has sprung a leak during the extreme cold - even though it was drained. We have a new unit to replace it but cannot work out how to get the old mixer tap off the grey section in the middle of the shower. This would seem to be the only access to the tap as the whole shower is a moulded unit. We can access the bottom of the shower over the wheel arch via a panel in the bathroom and we can see the red and blue pipes we need to attach to but cannot get any higher.

Anybody any ideas how to get the old mixer tap out of the shower to insert a new unit.

Thanks in anticipation - Liz

Hi,

did you manage to remove the grey section? Ours has just done the same and we need to remove the grey section.

any advice on how you did it would be gratefully received!

thanks

Yes we did - the grey but pulls forward as you stand in the shower. It is held onto the white by very strong velcro round the mixer tap and lower. Take your time and gently rock it left and right around the mixer tap pulling forward at the same time. It will seem as if it's not moving but eventually the velcro will split. Be careful not to move it on the thin bit of grey - use the thick bit where the mixer tap is - we split the thin bit thinking that was where it was but managed to stick that back together at the end. Good luck and let us know if we can be of any further help.
