3 berth caravan with no washroom? Recommendations?

Hi

We are a couple looking for a small caravan with a 2 +1 caravan with no washroom. We are potentially first timers, and looked at the Eriba Famila 310 GT with seemed to suit (we liked the layout and small size) but we were wondering what other alternatives were out there? All caravans seem to have a washroom, which we don't need or want.

Any advice would be very welcome, thank you

Many thanks

Not unsurprisingly there has not been a rush of suggestions! Caravan manufacturers seem determined to add more and more "luxuries" with the accompanying weight and size.

Why not consider buying an older van - as first timers it would have the advantage of costing quite a small amount to enable you to try the idea out and learn exactly what you do and do not need - eg running hot water?

Mny older vans have a "toilet compartment" that is basically a large cupboard, and very useful for storage!

I second that; buy something to "try" for a while, which you can hopefully sell on without losing too much. If you spend a few hours on these forums, you will find, for example, that some swear by a fixed bed, others are exactly opposite.

Thank you - I agree re your comment of vans getting bigger with bells and whistles. Looking at adverts for second hand vans - would it be those "cassette toliets" which are the ones to go for?

Thanks again

Hi Lorna,

I'd suggest either the Eriba Familia 310GT you've already discovered or the slightly larger Triton 410GT (1/2 metre longer)

Both are 3-berth caravans, with an identical front dinette, storage, fridge and cooking, but the advantage of the Triton is that the two beds can be made up as two large singles (with a walkway between) or as a super-king sized double

Regards, Robert

And yes - we do have a Triton 410
