3 x Carver Cascade Water heater 2 And still not working!?!?

Had a right chew on with trying to get hot water after 240 v connection became unavailable. From a carver 1 we installed the newish gas chamber after finding the old one rusted to useless on the carver 2. After installing the flame came on and burned for 5-7 seconds then red light. So after more chew on soldered another burber module on that we believed to work and it worked!!! One day of hot water. Day later red light back on with same 5-7 second wait until it turns off again and red light comes on..... Bit sick of it, but never will one give up!!

Can you please clarify which model of Cascade heater you are trying to use. You say "carver 1" do you mean the original Carver Cascade (circa 1979 to 1984)

with the through the floor mounting and copper tank, or the aluminium Carver Cascade 2 (circa 1984 to 1999) ?

Thanks for the replies! I have two carver cascade 2's (aluminium tank), not din, More modern 4 pin connector. And 1 that I believed to be an earlier model, with din, but pretty much same otherwise. Defo not any of them circa 1979 haha, that looks more like a bomb.. Cheers ProfjohnL.

The Mk1 might look like a bomb but even so, it was a very reliable Bomb!! 😂
As for mk2 problems, sounds to me like a damp problem, first then try removing the burner module, Gas Turned Off First, once removed open black box and inspect both sides of circuit board for signs of water getting in? If not then leave it indoor in a warm environment, perhaps overnight, before reinstalling and immediately testing again to see if it works now while still 100% dry?
