6 Berth caravan

Hi

Been looking at a few 6 berth caravans and have seen a few Elddis. Just wondering if this is a good van or would the Bailey be a better buy?

Same for us as well. Were looking at a Swift 650, but their not making it this year??

So now trying to get a look at a Lunar Lexon TL. When do they arrive in the NE of Scotland dealers?

I would recoment looking at the Coachman Amara 560/6, 570/6 or 640/6 and the Coachman laser 655/6

They are far superior to those you have looked at. Assuming you need a six berth for a family you should find these 'vans will stand the test of time much better with less hasstle as they are built to a higher standard. Yes there is a slight price and weight premium but it's well worth it

Thanks for the advice! I would definately need a 6 berth as 4 young children! Are you saying that an Elddis/Bailey won't stand the wear and tear of a busy young family? Whereas a Coachman will stand the test of time?

Our last Bailey managed about 100 nights away over 3 seasons and showed no family wear and tear. We happily have this year upgraded to a Pageant S7 Bretagne six birth and it all looks pretty well screwed together to me.

Have a look at the Amara 570-6, same layout as the 655/6 but only twa wheelies. Otherwise git yer han in yer pooch, git an extra wik in on ee rigs!

We have just purchased a new 6 berth Elddis having had 2x previous Coachmans. Although they sometimes dont have a modern look/upholstery they are very well built.

Maybe take a look at a few, see what the interiors look like, check the cupboard doors and drawers etc. Kids love to open and close them is there loads of plastic (looks tacky in my view). Do they have a microwave built in (very handy for mum).

If your thinking of a new van have you checked out the new Elddis Tempest?

I am not saying one make is better or worse than the other. If we were all the same life would be boring. Our last van was a 5berth and we took several months to consider what caravan and more importantly which layout.

Maybe deciding a layout will help determine or narrow down your choice.

I've had 2 6 berths, a single axle Ace and currently a twin axle Abbey 650 with twin bunks at the rear.

I only have 2 kids, but have had 8 sat at the back playing comfortably, also the choice of ways the rear beds can be set up is a bonus.

Unfortunately Swift have stopped making the Abbey, but the Charisma 650 (same layout) is still available.
