Hello All. we are hoping to have a couple of weeks this summer looking around the North Norfolk area. Hunstanton through to Cromer give or take a mile or two plus a few inland trips etc. It is not an area we are familiar with but internet questions bring up visions of a very nice and interesting park of the country.
We are hoping someone could suggest a couple of Caravan Club CL sites that are fairly central to this area that we could try.
Obviously we have looked in the directory and found the area is well served for sites but when booking for a couple of weeks it is always more comfortable if people are able to make recommendations.
Thank you Brian

Norfolk is lovley and plenty to see. We have stopped at a very nice CL at Wighton near to Wells, lovley area and the site is on a farm. Cannot remember the name but it is in the CC Book. It has "no dogs" though as there is a lot of wild life around..

Thank's for the quick response Dianne. I will look it up in the book. No problem dog wise and I like the idea of being surrounded by the wildlife. The site could be one option we could go far. Cheers Brian

Brian, Hempstead Hall (Handbook p431), near Holt maybe worth a look. We use it for short notice weekends as it is only about 20 miles from us. It is very secluded, on a working farm, owners very friendly. Holt is walking distance, and you can do a circular walk from the site through Holt Country Park. Part sloping so you may need levelling blocks, approach road a bit narrow but we have no probs with our 7m length van, no kids. Ideal for exploring Sheringham/Cromer area.

If I can figure out how, may put a photo on here of our last visit in March when we had the site to ourselves!

Where ever you end up enjoy your stay in Norfolk.

Hi Brian
The CL site at Wighton, which Dianne referred to, is at Whey Curd Farm. It is a very pleasant site looking out over water meadows. We stayed there several times before we acquired our dog. Another pleasant site nearby is at Nutwood Farm. Both these have electrics and are quiet and away from any traffic noise. However, our favourite site in that area is at Westgate Farm, which is on the western edge of Binham. It is spacious and has views over the countryside, but it doesn't have hook ups.
If you are vistiting this area, Wells next the Sea is a lovely working town and port as well as a tourist destination. The Three Horshoes at Warham does both excellent beer and home-cooked meals.
Cheers
Paul

Thankyou for the reply Paul That's great information. We will probably opt for a site with hook up because we are hoping to stay for a week or so. We have stayed at some lovely sites without hook up but only for odd weekends no problem.
the sites you have mentioned are right central to where we are hoping to stay so when we get our dates confirmed we will set about booking one.
