A Dog's for life not just Christmas

Dustydog and his fellow dogs and SWMBO take this opportunity of wishing you all a very happy and enjoyable Christmas.
We will be savouring the delights of Cornwall for two weeks. Will also be trying Hilary Harris Lamb Biryani.
Lest we all forget do think of the poor dogs who get kicked out after Boxing day

Makes me very angry that in this day and age this problem still happens.

Merry Christmas Dustydog, I hope that the weather isn't too bad for your trip but I'm sure that the biryani will warm you up.
Perhaps dog licences costing a substantial amount and compulsory pet insurance ought to be introduced to prevent the majority of idiots from being allowed to keep dogs which they don't look after or later abandon.

We bought our mutt at Christmas (1997). Took her to the vet, as a puppy, for her jabs etc. Vet, (who didn't know us as we had moved house and area since having previous mutt who had died of "old age"), was most unpleasant and clearly believed that we were the "dog for christmas" brigade. It is awful how people treat pets as unwanted gifts but not OK for alleged professionals to treat everyone as if they are pet abusers due to the actions of some. Still have the same mutt who is much loved and cared for, 13 years later.

We have owned our dog now for 3 weeks, got her from a dog rescue, we have never had a dog always cats all our life.
We both admit we have not a clue how to train her but she is teaching us slowly.
I can live with her pulling on the lead, hiding our slippers, getting us up at 5.30 in the morning for a wee in the garden, walks 4 times a day.
She makes up for the love she gives the greetings we get if we go out with out her shopping or that thing called work we do to make up our pension.
Lucy is part of our family, she is the grandchild we will never have.
Why did we not have a dog years ago I do not know.
Pat and me love her to bits.

Arrgh well. Some dog owners would do better as dog food, beat them and starve them and tie them on a chain in a cold damp yard before they are tinned would be too good for them.
Haven't got a clue about the Biryani. 3 Crantock Steak Pasties a day would do my meal requirements for two weeks in Cornwall and our dogs are quite partial to them as well, and a Kelly's cornish ice cream fo desert.

Can't do with all those so called Cornish veggie pasties or that vegan green new age organic stuff at the Eden Project.
