A winters tip

This time last year I was thinking, I hope my new caravan be OK through the winter period. Five weeks later I had the answer NO..

My Bailey Limousin was letting in water moisture through the side fridge vents, according to Bailey the fitting of winter shields is an opional extra at £ 19 .00 per screw on shield.

I had to get my new van towed back to the dealer at a cost of £400.00 the loss of the van for almost 3 months and the damaged

cabinet to the side of the fridge replaced.

You have been warned

Note: I am still £400.00 pound out of pocket.

Bailey gave me two winter covers free, how kind.

What a bummer.

Our Burgundy had the fridge vent shields with it when we bought it new in 2007.

Always used them below 10deg. and had no trouble, we do caravan through winter.

Hope the Pegasus we've ordered has them, 38 quid sounds a bit steep for what they are.

Never realised that kind of damage could happen, thought it just affected the fridge's temperatures.

best regards

Tom
