Folks, has anyone ever tried towing their outfit over this road past the Lecht ski area, I am getting so fed up taking the A96 to Inverness. I was across the road solo last week and came across an ice cream van stopped at the side of the road just north of Cockbridge on the hill, the owner was busy emptying out cases of juice, so his van could make the incline, I stopped to help him out, and wondered if anyone had been brave enough to attempt the road towing their caravan, without the aid of a Hummer Jeep. I have seen wreckage at the top in the past due to crosswinds on a downhill stretch.

Hi Alexander,

We take the caravan over this road at least 4 or 5 times a year. However I would recommend that you have a 4x4 with low range gearbox because if you have to stop on the uphill for whatever reason (I've had to stop a couple of times)you will need low box to get going again.
