Caught the wall bringing the van in today. Both windows nearside. Front one badly scored and the back one broken. :( The van is a 2014 elddis xplore 530. I was surprised that they weren't more expensive from the dealer about £120 each plus vat. and he tells me they are quite simple to change. Can't see anywhere else online that does them aprt from dealers. Not worth claiming on ins as excess is more than that. Anyone have any ideas of another source?
I shall have to eat crow for months now :-((

The quote looks very cheap from what I have heard of the costs of windows. The only firm I know of that makes windows is EECO but I think as they make them to order they will charge far more.

Yes I was surprised. I enquired before I went down the insurance route but now think I won't. According to the dealer it's because the windows are still being used by Elddis. Still angry with myself tho. It's because I was on my own and I knew I couldn't use the mover as the battery was flat. Have to take it out today and look into why it went flat. I shall charge and then deep cycle it and see if I get anywhere.

Well I changed both windows today. Really quite easy :) Total bill for a moments carelessness was the thick end of £300. :-( Still it would have been a lot worse if I had touched the wall with the sidewall and not the window. Another thankyou to the very helpful people at Wilts caravans.

Yes it's been a busy few weeks. As well as the windows, 2 tyres on the towcar, a slipped tile on the roof, the freezer had to be replaced and on Friday I lost the windscreen of the towcar to a large stone on the motorway. Ah well.

Half way to being Woosie,

If that series of disasters is only half way to becoming a Woosie, I shudder to think what the full qualifying scenario looks like. Think we need to lower the bar to membership.

It's not all been bad news tho. Yesterday I had an email from Mrs Obama telling me that a box containing $12.5million has been found which she believes belongs to me and this morning I had another message about a similar box has been found in Newark airport so I should be ok ;-)

This years renewal for myself are,
1. trying to motor move the van with legs down,
2, front locker open, all the way home from Pickalot , 186 miles,
3 trying to retune the TV without plugging in the Aerial.
4. Parking next to Parksy, at Pickalot, and enjoying his company with a 3 litre box of wine.
