Abbey Spectrum 418 Electrics

We have a new (puchased November) Abbey Spectrum 418. While away at Easter the mains electric on site kept tripping. When this happened we ended up in complete darkness as the control panel switched off completely so the 12v supply also went off. We had to switch the panel back on manually .. not easy in total darkness. Our dealer has said this appears to be normal for the 'new' 'improved' electronic panel but this seems strange to us. Anyone else have the same type of panel in a new Swift made van with the same problem - better still anyone have a solution ?
