Hello , I was in Halfords and saw they had tyre pumps on offer , I thought about getting one but found they went up to max psi of 60, my wife said she thought the tyre's on our caravan , an Abbey Frestyle 540 which is a dealer special abbey vogue 495, were set higher than that, our van is in storage and with work I cannot make it easily and like an idiot, I left the book in the van, just wondered if anyone knows the tyre pressure on this van, thank you.

mr c,

i bought a halfords digital inflator about a year ago(half price offer-i think about 20.00 pounds).i needed a pump to reach 61 psi for my large single axle van and they couldn't tell me if it would do that pressure so they said i could return it as long as all packaging was intact if it was unsuitable.it works fine the only thing is the power lead is a bit short so i have to hang it through the side window to reach the offside tyre..really needs an extended power socket.it has an auto stop when pressure is reached which is useful.

hope this helps,Dave.

Hi Kath,

Just seen your post from 10.10pm tonight, all I can say is that is devotion to duty.

Good luck to you
With this level of commitment from Swift personel at that time of night, I am now even more convinced I made the right choice with a Swift Group Abbey Vogue 495 based dealer special.

Other manufacturers could do with looking at this forum.

Hello Dave

The information on the tyre pressure is 62psi. From that it looks like the thing at Halfords is no good to you.

Can I just say that if you were contacting our customer careline for tyre pressure we would always ask for you chassis no to ensure we were giving you accurate information. This is why the tyre pressures are not on our website.

Obviously for the purposes that you are asking then its ok to give you this information.

Kath

Well done again Kath.

Good to see Swift are taking a keen interest and helping us forum members.

Kim at Bailey,

I hope you read this, I am sure you too can do as well as Kath.

Yes, I have thrown down the gauntlet and extend the offer to all manufacturers and chassis makers.

Cheers

Alan

Be very carefull with the type of tyre pressure guage you use for the c/van most are accurate at the common pressures of 30/35psi but can be anything up to +/-6psi at 60psi usually you can find the the acurracy quote on the packaging of reputable manufacturers. I use a 12volt inflater bu would not trust the integeral guage
