ABS panel repairs

Has any one had "stress cracks" in the ABS front/rear panels repaired.what or how was it done, how long ago,& was it succesful??
Reason for asking is,they are appearing in my vans front panel,& the van is not covered by a warranty.I can only find 1 company who does sonic welding but its 200 mile awayso i am wondering if any other methods are successful if so I may keep the van if not I may have to get rid of it

Thanks Sprocket, thats the one I was mentioning.they gave a quote of £850,but as i said they are over 200miles away from me in the south. There are several repaires down here but none seem to do "plastic weld" repairs. they all seem to do the chemical glue repairs,Or want to use normal car repair compounds to fill & then spray the repairs

Hi TD42
My first concern is why it has cracked.
Bailey had a lot problems a few years ago where I believe the ABS panels were installed in a faulty way causing stress loads that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
If yours is one of these and even though it's outside of the Warranty, have you thought about a chat with Bailey to see if they can arrange a free or cost price replacement?
Assuming yours does have an "Inherent Defect", a fault which has beeen there from new then I think it is worth asking the manufacturer.
Sorry that doesn't help on the repair front.

I have allready done what you suggest, unfortunatly the van is out of warantee & beyond the 6 year SOGA time spec.so other than attempting an unlikely to win court case I was looking to get the repair done privatly but cannot afford the £2000 + quoted for a new front panel
PS I bought the van S/H & the warrantee was not transferable at that time. the dealer I bought it from is no longer in existence

We have hairline cracks on our Avondale which have been repaired some successfully and others not But as workshop gaurantee there's for 12 months we have no worries plus we have MBG insurance
