We have a 2004 Ace Jubilee Statesman which is listing to the off-side and we were told it was a problem with the axle - however, we have had the axle replaced and this has not solved the problem.

They are now talking about replacing the chassis! Has anyone else have/had the same problem?

My neighbour had the same problem after his van hit a large pot hole in the road, first they changed the axle but still it listed to one side, after further investigation they replaced part of the chassis, this cured the problen but by this time after many months without his van he sold it and bought a motorhome. Hope you get yours sorted quicker.

I have recently sent my van (a coachman) in for 'Quote minor damp problem', as the place I have my van is about 60 miles from where I live I took it in on a Saturday earlier this month, on the monday I received a phone call from the service dept to say that they had noticed my van liste to one side by about 40mm. They put it up on the ramp and said that the swing arm was damaged and I would need a neww axle. I then contactred my inurance company who have sent son eone out to see it and ahve authorized the repairs. We would be very interested to know which part of the chassis had to be replaced, so that I can discuss this with my repairer. My van is not yet three years old and have no idea when this damage occurred, is this a common problem Thanks in anticipation

Usually if a caravan is listing its caused by the indespension rubber on that side either suffering damage due to potholing etc, or sagging through age, i cant understand why a new axle didnt cure the original problem, because surely any chassis damage would have been investigated already and any damage would be visible.

indespension units are very hard, if not impossible to fit in the workshop/service centre and so usually a new axle is recommended.

Also we thought a twin wheel Ace had a twisted chassis last spring because the wheel arch (plastic screw on arch) had been worn away by the front tyre, after all the measurements had been taken and found to be correct, it turned out swift were putting the spats on in the wrong place, we had a whole run of them where at least one side or the other had to be removed and realigneed correctly.
