Ace Northstar

We are just about to take the plunge and buy a new caravan after 20+yrs of caravaning. Our last van was a 5 berth and now the little darlings have flown the nest we are looking at a 2/4 berth end bedroom van.The Ace Northstar looks a very attractive buy for us.Has anyone had experience with this van if so comments please.

Hi Robert

We have a 2005 Northstar which gave us a hell of a nightmare for the first 9 months we had it, mainly due to dealer not PDI'ing the van before delivery and not fitting extra's we paid for. It has now been sorted and we are at last very happy with this van, it has an upmarket feel to it internally and I can recommend this van [now that it is fixed].

Hi Robert

We bought an Ace Award caravan last year. Ours is a Transtar. We are truly delighted with it. Having said this, we've not owned any other models - so perhaps not a very objective view!

If you were looking for possible criticisms of Ace's, I would say that the drop-in carpets could be better quality - the pile on ours is already looking a bit tired and is pilling slightly.

Also, take a close look at the lighting to see if you like the effect and the positioning - we don't like the round ceiling lights much and would prefer a few more wall lights to give a better coverage of pleasantly soft lighting.

Otherwise, the quality seems very good and we haven't had any cause for complaint. As a measure, we would happily replace ours with another new Ace when the time comes.
