Add a leisure battery

Hi folks thinking of adding a leisure battery to existing one .i have a 61 plate swift escape on Fiat Ducato 130 multi jet .
Can anyone see any probs ie will split charger cope etc
Appreciate any help/advise

Seek advice from a Fiat dealer or a good towbar fitter. If your Ducato has CanBus then you may need to use the manufacturer harness and have the ECU updated so that the latter knows when you are towing. Most certainly using a split charge relay on modern vehicles is not a good idea.

There shouldn't be a problem, unless your vehicle has a smart alternator.

Do be aware that the leisure battery needs to be in a separate enclosure and vented to the outside.

Yes. Others may disagree, but if the battery goes faulty you will at least have all its content contained and not contaminating the living area.
