Hello Everyone, from new members Pauline &Peter. We are retired and newly back to caravanning, after 15 yrs absence, at least we will be when we get our new Bailey Burgundy in January. Children all grown up and fled the nest We love children & it is great for them to enjoy the hobby but we are now at the stage of life when we enjoy peace & quiet. so can anyone recommend adult only sites in the dales & lakes. Incidently we live in Norfolk.

Cheers

Peter&Pauline

You and Pauline need to be careful leaveing Norfolk for them hills, and all that water. Take care, I love hills so long as I have one foot on the ground at sea level.

Take care

The Ashes caravan park is only 5 mins off the M6 motorway and approx 3 miles from Kendal.

We used it as an overnight stop on the way home to Scotland. It is a small park surrounded by farm land,in a very small hamlet.

The toilets are built in the lakeland stone and a great deal of thought has gone into the design.

If you have a dog, there is only a very small dog walk on site.We would certainly think of using it again in the future.

dont take this the wrong way, im just curious -why adult only sites? Arew kids that bad! I know in the caravan and camping club magazine people often complain but isn't it enough to go to sites that are less family friendly rather than ones that ban children?

Sue,

We used The Ashes principally because we wanted an overnight stop which was near to the motorway.

The argument about using adult only sites repeatedly comes up.....and at the end of the day it is a personal choice.Nothing to do with not liking children.......we have 9 grandchildren ages ranging from 2yrs up to 13 years, but sometimes we enjoy being on a site where we have peace and quiet. Please, let's not have another long debate on this subject!)

hee hee.

A couple of years back when our sons got to old to come camping/vanning with us I commented that there were a few 'adult only' sites advertised and why didn`t we (wife and I)try one or two to find out if they were nice and peacefull.

Shock--- Horror---The looks I got from both the sons and wife were enough to freeze the air.

Even after I explained that they WERN`T perverted wife swap etc etc type 'adults only' I was met but a stoney silence.

Guess one day I might convince them but for now it`s a big NO-NO.

Shame cause it sounds an ideal choice for an old couple like us just for a change.

Hi,

I've just set up a website specifically for Adults only & Luxury caravan & camping sites - have a look at www.premier-camping.com.

I also have a few others that I know of which aren't on my website: (They're all in Yorlshire)

www.overbrookcaravanpark.co.uk

www.maustin.co.uk

www.brontecaravanpark.co.uk

Hope this helps!
