Hi, my wee lass works really hard all year long in a job that has its moments, lots of stress involved. she also maintains and looks after our abode day in day out, she thinks i dont appreciate this, but i do. and to show my appreciation i am thinking of splashing out and buying her a nice wee prezzy for Christmas.

this is where i might need some assistance as i dont usually participate in this sort of thing. therefore, whats yer feelings on me buying her a nice new hoover for a surprise, one of those new fangled type that are easy to push and dont need a bag emptied. i think this would be a wonderful surprise for her, and i can get one in her favourite colour.

so, good idea or not ?.

cheers.

Why I bother with internet forums I don't know. Now after reading this I'm riddled with guilt about only buying Her Ladyship a nice broom, dustpan and brush. I suppose I could lash out and buy a

Purple is my favourite colour.

Anyway, I saw a fridge on the Antique Roadshow tonight and it had a poster type effect on the front of the Beatles Sgt Pepper. So you see, even in your day, appliances weren't always white.

Highlander, bonny lad, what a very thoughtful person you are.I am sure we would all enjoy seeing the joyful exchange betwixt you and your lassie when you give her this well thought out show of your appreciation of her. Is is possible to post a video of the event so that we can share the experience with you both? I bet she will reciprocate in the age old way. SO BRACE YOURSELF ITS GOING TO BE A BUMPY NIGHT!!!!

Thursdays Child, yea i know i am ever so thoughtful and always put others first. thats why i want to buy her a hoover thats easy to push, so it doesnt play on her osteoporosis which can be quite bad at times (like my spelling)especially when she comes straight in from work and has to hoover up the hairs from our 5 greyhounds which keep me company on the couch all day.

god forbid, i cant have her not going out to make a shilling and i dont want her long term ailment affect her from doing so, just couldnt allow it.

and no, we dont give gifts on christmas eve, she will open it in the morning after returning from walking the dogs and cooking breakfast for me in bed, as she does any other day.

she wont have too much time to enjoy it though, she needs to go for firewood to keep me nice and toasty while watching great escape, oh the magic of christmas.

Highlander,God bless you and the ground you have coming to you!!!I wish I had met you first and had not spent my life in idleness and doing without all the latest household toys, I have had to make do with my broomstick and although I have spent years riding it I still crash land every halloween. To show my admiration of you I am at the moment concocting a special brew for you.If your gude lady would send me a lock of your hair I can finish the doll I am making in your image.Next time you feel a twinge think of me.

HEH HEH HEH!!!

Contrary to what some might think highlander I'm sure your good lady appreciates your kindness in insisting that you don't take on some of the household chores. If you allowed your wife to lounge about all day she would soon cease up due to the osteoporosis and she will realise this.

Due to this thread and how stingy it makes me seem I've now replaced the brushes and shoe polish prezzie for my wife with an egg whisk. I'll give her the brushes and shoe polish in June for her birthday.

smiley, ye dont get it do ye ?

this prezzie is being bought after a lot of consuderation as to what would suit her needs. as posted earlier, she has chronic sores and my choice bears that in mind, it will be theraputic for the wee soul and will keep the joints from siezing up through regular use. i went to great lengths to find one in her fav colour scheme as well. if ye look at some of the replies, ye will see there are others who really appreciate what i am doing, even to the extent of lordy changing his prezzie because he felt guilty another kind guy like me could break the bank and splash out, its only once a year so, hey ho i will spend some of my sheckles.
