Hi, we are just in the process of buying a Bailey Indiana caravan. Our caravan dealer only stocks Reich but has said he will get anything we want. We are trading in our Abbey Vogue which has a Carver on it. We have moved the Carver on to a number of caravans we have had and we have had no problems with it but it is now starting to make a few clicking noises so we have decided to buy a new mover. I have read a few comments about Reich movers being set low and that people are worried about going over speed bumps, etc. We have to go over loads of speed bumps and therefore I would b grateful for any advice between Reich and Carver. Regards Isabel

Hi Isabel.

See all the previous posts on the Powrtouch mover. They offer the best prices, home fitting or diy, and a 5 year guarantee.

Cheers

Alan

Neither, buy a PowrMover from PowrTouch.

As well as the original Carver, long since badged Truma, the other Truma models are more recently designed.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your reply but our caravan dealer said he would not recommend powrtouch as they found them very slow with parts if any breakdown. Isabel

Hi Roger,

I agree . Clearly Isabel's dealer doesn't like Powrtouch.

My own dealer and the local Swift dealer used to do Truma but now they do Powrtouch. I did investigate the Reich and thought the specification was very good but it was a bit pricey.

Cheers

Alan

Isabel follow Alans advice, get a PowrTouch.

Tell your dealer to look at any caravan forums and he will see that they have far the best comments than any other mover. The fact is your dealer probably gets a smaller profit margin off PowrTouch than the others and thats the reason they dont deal with them. The comment about spares is a total lie unless the hundreds of comments posted are posted by liars.

By the way, I've got a Truma and wouldn't touch them again, simply because their after sales service is crap.

Do a search in this forum, although the search in here is rubbish so you will have to go back through the pages, and there's lots of topics on movers, probably under Equipment & accessories.

The vast majority cannot be wrong Isabel and take your dealers comments with a pinch of salt.

BTW, tell your dealer you don't want one and get PowrTouch to fit one at your home. They will match or better the price of any other mover as you will see in this forum.

We have a Reich mover which we have been very happy with.Any small problems which have occurred have been sorted out by Reich in Staffordshire very promptly.

We started off with the sandpaper covered rollers but now we have the aluminium ones which are much lighter in weight and perform very well.

I must agree though.....all the comments about Power mover have been very positive.

Our friends had one fitted at there house and are more than happy with it.It doesn't matter if it is slow.....what's the rush?

Thanks for all your hard work. You are the tops. Our dealer has told us that he can supply powrtouch or any other mover we wish. I will just have to make sure of the model we would require for the Indiana and what price we could have it fitted for at home before I ask them for a price. He is giving us an allowance of

Thanks for your reply. We are going to make up our minds between the Reich or Powrtouch as our dealer has now informed us that he will supply either. We like the 5 year guarantee from Powrtouch. Thanks again. Isabel

Hello Isabel, Take my advice and compare prices with your dealer fitting a powertouch, and having it fitted by powertouch. I think you will be surprised!!!! Also find out the price of the enduro fitted and let powertouch do a price match. They will!!!

Hi,

I have had a Reich now for 3 years and it is fitted in front of the wheels which allows me to keep the spare wheel carrier and the Alko side lift jacking points. It has never caused any problems on speed humps, ferry ramps or rough site ground (CL/CS). It was fitted by R&L Draper and the price was very comparable to the Powertouch and cheaper than Carver. I had haerd bad things about Carver but Reich and Powertouch seem to be good products backed up by good service.

We have a Reich which is currently being transferred to a third 'van. It has been totally reliable (shame the same can't be said about my fathers Powertouch!) and we haven't had any problems with the low height.

Hi Isabel,

Had a Reich mover fitted to our last caravan (Dethleffs) and it worked really well when used in "wired mode".

If I tried to use it wirelessly it would set off burglar alarms in the street!!!!!!!!!!!
