I have recently fitted a motor mover from Enduro a cheap option i now regret!, i have a single axle Bailey Ranger 2004, the mover fitted and worked ok, i had to mess around to get it not to rub on the tyres but it worked ok. We went on a break for a few days to Worcester, my Wife was using the mover when i noticed smoke coming from the nearside motor. I stopped the mover and checked the hot motor and inside the Caravan, although we did have a burning smell in the caravan but couldn't see where from. I didnt use the caravan mover again and disconnected it,On my return to home i had a caravan engineer check out the mover and the installation, he found the cables on the near side had charred and the insulation was melted. On checking out the motors he found the nearside on had an internal short to the casing, this inturn has overheated the cables. Has any one had a similar experience? this is obviously a serious safety matter. I have had no feedback from enduro's distributor who seems to want nothing to do with it as he claims it was an "ebay purchase" and because i fitted it it is my responsibility, however after a little investigation i understand these Enduro Movers come from the far east where quality and safety as we know are the last in consideration, i am angry with myself more than anything and the words of my parents ring aloud " you only get what you pay for" my advise is Buyer Beware !,My local trading standards have been informed and are taking the matter up with the seller to attempt to get me a refund. Your comments would be appreciated. Barney.

Hi Barney

Sorry to hear of your problem, I think you have some recourse with ebay.If you bought the item from a trader trading as a shop you should contact him and ask for refund as item was not as described. if you get nowhere you can file a dispute with ebay, and provided you did not pay cash, ebay have a scheme where you can eventually recover your money, it is long winded but I know of people that have managed to get their money back. Go on to the ebay site and search the help topics for 'what you can do if item is not as described'We had a problem with a porch awning and seller refunded all of our money once ebay got involved. Finally make sure you go for Powertouch next time!

Hi barney,

Sorry to hear of your problems with the mover. I can fully endorse terry and Keith's comments as I also have a Powrtouch and there is nothing to beat it. The after sales service is second to none.

Best of luck in your battle to get a refund.

Nidge
