Hi All,

Can anyone please give me advice on aerials . i have an abbey vogue gts caravan (2005) with one of the omni aerials on top .. its one of the ones you cannot adjust (sorry but i am still a bit of a learner here dont know the model) .. anyways when we were last out in van could not get a picture for love or money. So i bought one of these vision plus image 530/18 with a mast. The question is when i set it up can i plug the aerial cable into the socket thats in my battery box. Will it work of the booster thats already in the van connected to the thing on top of my van. If not what have i got to do .

Many thanks in advance ..... Harry

The booster is designed to work with the electronics in the roof aerial and as the normal aerial has no electronics I would thing that any boosting should be done via another unit.

If you just want the convenience of the existing wiring then unplug the wires from the booster and connect the 2 coaxes together .

Hope that helps

I'm in much the same position as you Harry, having just bought a new digital tv and very unhappy with the OmniMax. The existing booster can't be used as it provides a supply up to the aerial which the new one doesn't require. The V/Plus booster could go in the same place as the old one, the switchable 12v supply is already there and so are the coaxes. Robin.

We had the same system on our Ace and we went and got the same aerial. It worked for us with no problems when plugged into the battery box connection

Harry,

Why not simply plug in your 'proper tv aerial' straight into your TV. You can get a direction & whether vertical or horizontal from the warden's aerial or nearby houses
