Air in Water System

I have just purchased a Sprite Alpine 2 which has an on board water pump etc (Shurflow) however it pumps ok but the water only spits and spurts out of the taps and gurgles in the water heater tank. I pressume this is air in the water heater tank or the system. What is the best way of getting rid of the air or air lock?

I had the same problem but with an external pump in the Aquaroll caused by a worn neoprene 'O' ring where the pump plugged into the inlet socket on the side of the van causing air to be sucked in with the water. Maybe your problem is similar.

Fill aquaroll, switch on pump, open hot tap at sink for about 20 seconds should clear air lock.

Hi Peter, I assume you have a truma feed pipe with a blue particle filter on the end which you place in the water barrel, if so check thatit's fully submerged, they have a tendency to float up and as the pump cycles the filter floats to the top and sucks air.I cured mine by slipping a plastic tube over the water feed pipe.

Thanks for your replies, I sent an email to Swift Leisure who responded almost by return and then called me to offer assistance. We went through everything that I had tried and we know think that the previous owner may not have drained the system fully (i.e. the pump) which may have damaged by the frost. Swift Leisure are arranging for me to take the caravan to a local dealers to have it sorted. My thanks to all who replied and a big thanks to Swift Leisure
