AL-KO STABILISER

I have a Bailey Discovery Mercury S5 with AL-KO 3004 Stabiliser just come back from a break and i had a big job of releasing it from my towball what can cause this it just had a service on the van . This van also has a hitch cover so it cannot get wet and the towball is covered any input would be a great help thanks

hi Mark.
this crops up from time to time and is not unusual the alko has a tendancy to refuse to release if there is any pressure on the hitch like after reversing or if the jocky wheel is raised too much the way I found to make it easier was to prior unhitching apply h/brake pull forward slightly so the damper is extended fully drop jocky wheel so it just touches the floor release the hitch lever and slowly raise the jocky wheel it will then release 99% of the time straight away.
