alde and truma heating systems

I am thinking of purchasing a new caravan, most new caravans seem to have one or the other of the above systems installed. Has anyone any experience of these, if so were many problems encountered.

See the thread 'Wich form of water and space heating' further down in this Topic. A few comments in answer to my original question.
I've also downloaded the manuals from the Alde website. From these it seems to me that the Alde system is more complicated to maintain (change of liquid every 2 years) and to set up - read the instructions for getting the air out of the system.
I'm a bit reluctant to have systems I cannot fix myself. The Alde also suffers from the problem that one failure will leave you without both heat and hot water, and is reported to be much slower to warm up the van. This matters to me as we travel down across Europe each New Year and need a quick warm up for the overnight stops usually on sites with low EHU power available.

Hi Peter
Ray S asked a very similar question last week and there were some good points made in reply which you can read Here

Truma comes in different flavors, the "S" system that RayS appears to favour and the Combi which like the Alde integratres space and water heating and is dependent on 12 volts DC to work at all.
We are big fans od Alde systems but have caravans where the maker has correctly specified and installed them. If a van did not feature it it is very very unlikely we would buy that van.
Whale is another potential heating system supplier.
