Need to top-up my system with the 5 yr pink variety of Antifreeze. Checked prices on Amazon Prime and found these:

Presume both are Glycol? Certainly both are G13!

Note one significantly more expensive than the other.
Note one has a claimed effective life of double the other.
Note both are G13
Note one arrives faster than the other.

Clear winner in Holts.

What am I missing? Has anyone any thoughts on which to buy? Any dire warnings I should heed?antifreeze.jpg

I'm presuming mixing would cause no issues (currently just finished the Alde G13)

One things for certain, Alde dont make their own fluid, they buy it in from a supplier, repackage it, and hike the price.
You decide but I know what I would do!

Are both based on O.A.T,(organic acid technology),if so then they have a life spans of around five years,I personally use Preston's from Toolstation that lasts upto 10.years and has a wide temperature range

Check that they're both concentrated and not ready-mixed - as some fluids are already diluted at 50%.

I believe the G12++ is the latest requirement from Alde.

I buy exactly the same spec as the Alde fluid, easily sourced and decant into a 1ltr bottle from Alde that I keep in the van.

Both OAT so far as I can tell.

Both 50% dilute and ready for use.

The advantage of the cheaper fluid here is price. Alde lasts 5 years whilst the Holts stuff up to 10! (Mind you I would still change after 5 and ignore the apparent saving of a 10 year life)

My reason for posting was just to check forum views. I'm sure Alde don't make the antifreeze as Mr P points out and, lets be honest, anything connected with the leisure industry seems to attract a rediculous price hike!

Oh and Holts is G12++ or G13, pink in colour and matches the Alde advice regarding type of stuff to use. (G12++ or G13)

Very confident Holts will do the job and whilst both are affordable I see no reason to pay over double the price for the Alde name!

Thanks for responses.
