Alde heating in new Bailey

I took delivery of my new Bailey Unicorn Seville and have been getting it ready for our first trip. The Alde 3010 heating system is new to me and I quickly encountered a problem getting it to work on 230v mains. The dealer told me to press button for 4 secs and start again but added it could take up to an hour to heat up. I did this but even after an hour it was still cold. I have noticed on the control panel that the 230v connection icon does not appear top RHS as shown in the manual. The system works fine on gas and I am wondering if I have missed something in the instructions or done someting daft!!
Any suggestions anybody?

Hi Mick,
I encountered what sounds like a similar problem when I collected my Barcelona. It isn't mentioned anywhere in either the handbook or in the alde instructions but there is a mains switch, in the Barcelona it is over by the kitchen sink, which has wording along the lines of "alde water heater" or similar. This is the switch to operate the system via mains electric, if that is not on then the system will not work on mains. Although it says water heater you do not need to fill up with water to get the heating working.
Hope this helps

Robert

Hi Robert,
thanks for your response. I returned to my task of solving the heater problem today and (surprise, surprise) had the system working OK off mains. I really don't know what was wrong yesterday but suspect it could have something to do with the reset procedure the dealer talked me through. I knew about the switch you refer to and had had that on yesterday testing the hot water before I got distracted by lunch. Another possibility is that I may have switched everything off and forgot to switch back on when I resumed later. I must say how impressed I am with the system. Alls well that ends well!!
Mick
