Hi, Can anyone shed any light on my problem please. we have just returned from a few days away, we have a 2008 ace supreme fitted with Alde heating system, for the first couple of days everything was ok with heating on electric, the temp inside was lovely and 'snug'. then the electric side of the heater stopped working and we had to switch to gas, on gas it worked fine but still does not work on electric. i have checked fuses on boiler under bed and they are ok. dont know what else to look for so if some-one can give any ideas or info i would appreciate it, thanks in advance.

Hi Graham,

You may have already checked this, so forgive me if I am stating the obvious.

Does the display show 1 or 2 next to the lightning symbol on the alde control panel? (third icon in from the top right).

If there is no 1 or 2 then is it possible that you have accidentally switched off the electric elements?

From memory, by moving across to that icon with the right/left arrows you can then select off, 1kw or 2kw with the up/down arrows. The handbook explains this.

The other possible issue is with the AMP limiting feature which is on the bottom row of options on the controller. The default for this is OFF (disabled) but again it could have got set to a low amp limit which is preventing the heaters from doing their thing.

I take it there is no error message on the display?

Hi Tony, Thanks for your reply, i have checked heating panel and at the mo it is set at number 1 with electric symbol next to it, also on bottom row of panel, the amps is still set to off, there is no error in the display, still not getting warm, interior temp is 5 degrees but heater set at 15 degrees....thanks for trying to help..

As Tony says it is the amp setting. My Heritage will not work on electric with it off.I have it set at 17.

On 1Kw it will not heat the van in the present temperatures, you need to have it on 2Kw.

Have you checked the mains breaker?

In this cold weather you may need to use both 2Kw electricity and gas to heat initially, then 2Kw will keep it going.

The other likely possibility is that the Alde electric element has failed. Or something loose in the wiring.
