Hello Christopher,

If the caravan is listing to one side then it will be one or a combination of three things

1. Is it heavily loaded on the lower side?,
2. The suspension worn or taken a set
3. Some other physical damage.

I have to say its unlikely to be just excess weight, so it is more likely to be 2 or 3. In both cases its not something you are likely to be able to rectify by yourself. It will almost certainly need a visit to the repair shop.

You say 'the last time we were out with the van it was quite difficult to get the van level i tow with a nissan x trail'

I'm not sure if you mean levelling the caravan when on site or when towing. But I must point out that when towing. there is no need for the caravan to be level for and aft. The angle at which it tows is controlled by the height of the tow ball. The manufacturers should be designing their caravans to work with the standard tow ball heights of between 350 and 420mm to the centre of the ball when loaded and hitched.

We have had an L shaped lounge on our last two caravans and never had this problem. Frankly there is not enough weight in the items affected to cause any noticeable imbalance. It sounds like the suspension to me but I think you need a specialist to look at it.

I had a mechanic look at my van yesterday, ckecked suspension and every thing looked ok, the van was jacked up and put on axle stands checked bearings and suspension rubbers, every thing looked ok, removed jacks and axle stands and the vavn is sitting level, he did not charge me cause he never realy done anythig, and he is a friend, could ther be a problem with the swing arm,

If teh caravan is now standing transversely level then it seems you have no problem particularly as your engineer friend has checked it out for you. Daft question but was the original ground level?
Best way forward now is to measurethe height from the centre of the wheels to the top of the wheel arches and see if that remains the same or changes.

checked van this morning back to square one van tilted to the right again looks like I WILL HAVE TO BITE THE BULLET AND PUT THE VAN INTO A DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO EXAMINE IT, THANKS FOR EVERY BODY,S HELP
