Alko side lift jack wont fit chassis

Ive bought an alko side lift jack, but the two mounting holes on the right angled bracket do not align with the two holes in the chassis of the van.Ive got a sprite alpine 4 which is 2 years old, that has the predrilled holes just behind the wheel. The only way that I can see to make the brackets fit,is to drill two new 13mm holes about half an inch lower down on the chassis.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Drilling holes in the chassis frame is a definite "No-No". Before embarking on such a task you must ask the manufacturer for a solution to your problem. It would be risky to rely on anyone's opinion in this forum unless they have been faced with the same issue and are able to help with the manufacturer's response.

HI! richard P i have a 2009 Swift charisma and my brackets fitted straight on, on NO account drill any holes or your warrenty in knackered don,t understand why the brackets will not fit said in my instructions that they will fit 98% ov vans . i know it sounds stupid but are you trying to fit them the rightway up (no offence meant ) they go on the outside

hope this helps Duggie
