Another Solar charger questions

I was thinking of purchasing a Maplins 13w solar charger for the caravan whilst on storage. Still not sure about the use of "charge controllers/regulators" as the data on the internet implies that you need one but Parksy (Moderator) said it is not necessary under 15w?
Also the instructions say "
Over-charge protection: When the over-charge protection is activated, the “Charging” indicator will go off, the charge regulator will shut off the power input from the solar panel to the battery. Please disconnect solar panel from the charge regulator.
As the caravan is in storage I will not be able to disconnect the charge regulator will this matter any advise would be appreciated.

The 13 watt charger is in offer at a good price but as you say, the pdf file states that the panel must be disconnected.
I sent an email to Maplins on your behalf to ask if disconnection was strictly necessary and Daniel Hirst from Maplins technical dept replied that the panel 'should be fine'.
I'll forward the email to you but make sure yourself by ringing or emailing them before you buy.
