Gilbert I spoke to them whilst I was there and the guy was saying that their finished, not sure who he was but he looked quite official. I actually thought they were jumping the gun what with insurance and everything though.

I've used their shop on my travels and thought it was quite a good dealer being a family run firm since 1936.

I'd be very surprised if they didn't have full insurance cover including Business Interruption .

Let's hope the Phoenix rises from the ashes.

Cheers

I was speaking to a friend onsite at Blair Castle on Sunday and he was saying that, they were rebuilding, with the insurance money.

Passed it on the way back to Dundee and couldn't see any damage. Plenty of stock around too.

My own dealer Grants ( Craigmills ) in Dundee are getting lots more work because of this and unfortunately I am struggling to get my water heater fixed for the summer hols.

Might sound a little sellfish I know, but who wants to go away for three weeks with no water in the van !

Fingers crossed.

the damage is in the showroom and the shop you can't actually see it from the road, its no good having the stock when all the keys are melted.

Ah I see jo. Sorry, the way I read your original post was that 90% of their stock was destroyed in the fire. The way my friend described it, similar to yourself, that it was a massive fire, so was just surprised ( and pleased I have to say ) that I couldn't see any damage from the road. As others have said, they are well established professional outfit who will have insurance.

Hello just a quick message from the Accessory Dept at Perthshire Caravans.

Yes the shop/workshop and most of the showroom is gone.

We lost all the showroom stock and the shop was totally destroyed.

We already have a small shop up and running; we have most of the basic items you may need however we don't have the room we had before.

We haven't been closed although we did lose phone lines/ email and electricity for a while, a new phone system due to be installed early next week.

Thanks to all the visitors we have had over the last week, many of you are not just customers but have become friends over the years.

We appreciate you all.

John & Kate
