Any ideas of a nice site for a weekend?

My wife and I have an opportunity to get away in the caravan for the weekend in a couple of weeks (my sister in law is having the children). As this is a first for us without the kids we thought it would be nice to try and get a nice site with ehu, toilets, and walking distance to a pub/village (would like to forget driving for the w/e)
As we live in Chester we would like anywhere within approx an hours drive, go on friday afternoon, get set up and chill!
If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I usually do alot of trawling through sites on the net but I thought for this occasion recommendations may be better.
Many thanks
Mike

Hi
Try Lady Margrets Park cc at Chirk, easy to get to from Chester - just down the dual carriageway towards Oswestry. Chirk is a village with some pubs, hotel and indian restaurant. CC site is easy walking distance of village - you drive into the village and turn at the monument for the site. Chirk castle national trust is nice for walking and not far from site, you could walk it.
Broadway cc site will be more than an hours I think from Chester but is walking distance of village. Hope this helps

Give arrowbank caravan park, Eardisland a try, they are on the pc site finder. It's an adults only site (over 12). Superb toilet block, on site fishing and there are two great pubs for beer & food in the black & white village just ten mins walk. No road noise at all and it's just 5 miles off the A49 at Leominster. It also has gravel hardstanding pitches most are level both ways. Leominster has a Morrisons and a host of cafe's and antique shops. Hereford is just 20 mins away.

I would guess it is about 1 1/4 hrs from chester.
