Cannot comment on the sites as we stayed in Abbeville. However St Valerie is a very pretty port in the middle of the bay. We went there several times as my wife's father was captured there in the run up to Dunkirk. However, on our last visit a year ago we noticed that it has become very expensive and parking meters were sprouting everywhere, which is not the norm in France. 2 coffees at €7.50 was definitely a bit steep and the restaurant meals were proportionately expensive as well. Moules and frites seemed to be the best buy, but not very exciting. Even the shops had much higher prices for everyday items, so we visited, looked around, spent little and left. However, outwith the area is pretty and you can cycle for miles. The steam train is also worth watching, even if it does have a young lady driver. Sacre Bleu as they say.

Unless you want to visit the Le Crueset factory shop at Fresnoy-le-Grand about 10m NE I would recommend avoiding St Quentin. It is a rather run down industrial area and is not a very pleasant place to be.

There is a nice site at Seracourt-le-Grand about 10m S of St Quentin if you need somewhere to visit the battlefields.

The Chateau de Drancourt is a Les Castel site. We stayed there a few years ago and found it to be very pleasant, with a very nice restaurant. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We only stayed one night as a stopover to the ferry. We would certainly use it again.

We stayed in Le Chateau de Drancourt in summer of 2009. Cracking site, good amenities, pitches a good size. Great part of the country, lovely beaches, local markets, easy to reach, Go For It!
