Anybody insured their caravan with Towergate Bakers?

Hi anyone,

There must be someone out there who has insured their van with these people?

I've just got a t/a, 3 yrs old and it's our first van.

CC are quoting me £523 and C&CC over £600 for new for old.

Towergate (£370) seem to offer the most discount for Cassoa Gold storage, phantom tracker and a SAS gridlock. We've already sorted storage and tracker out, so I don't mind if I have to buy a gridlock to get £150 off my insurance.

I'd just like to know if anyone has any good or bad experiences with them? I've heard bad stories about some insurers in the forums, but can't find anything in them for Towergate....

Any stories would be really appreciated, I need insurance this week!

Cheers,

Gary

Hi Gary

We just renewed with the CC but reduced our cover from the Super 5cs to the Standard 5cs . It's still new for old but not the 10 years that Super 5cs gaev.

The new Wyoming with all the alarms etc cost us

Hi Gary,

Towergate Bakers have been a favourite of Eriba (Hymer) owners for the past twenty plus years.

Over on the Eriba Forum the majority of owners flip-flop between Towergate Bakers and the CC depending on which one is cheaper that year.

We've used both for years - but have never had to claim - so I can't answer for that part of the process.

Hi Alan, I couldn't see that much to be honest. They discount heavily if you store it on a Cassoa gold site (which we will), have an alarm and tracker (which it has) and one of 6 or 7 wheel clamps. As I don't pick the van up till Friday, I don't mind getting their recommended wheel clamp as 1) we're limited on a twin axle anyway what we get and 2) even if it's the

A word of warning...when I got a quote online from TB they asked various security questions about the alarm, tracker, wheelclamps etc..but nothing about hitchlocks. Luckily, when I rang to confirm I asked about hitchlocks and they said I needed one. Not bothered about which type, just as long as it's on when unattended. If I hadn't have asked then that could have been a nice get-out clause for them had I had cause to claim.

Beware!!
