Hi Brian, we were at Cirencester last year and are indeed returning for New Year this year.

not sure about the bikes as we don't use them , you could walk into the park through a back gate but I think I read somewhere that it had been closed but either way it is only a short walk into the town from were you can gain access.

There are plenty of walks in the area but probably not direct from the park. Many of the cotswold villages are within a reasonable travelling distance.

There is a large supermarket about 5 mins drive from the park and another smaller one in the town itself.

I'm sure you will enjoy it as we ourselves are looking forward to returning.

Hope this helps.

Lots of walks in and around the Park although no direct access from the CC site now (gate blocked) but only a short distance out to the road & back into the Parks side entrance. No cycling allowed in Cirencester Park itself, walking only.

We used our bikes & there are plenty of quiet roads & cycle ways to explore, including an easy run into the town, although its a bit of a drag back up to the site - nice though.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
