Hi,
I know that you are not supposed to put the breakaway cable around the tow ball so I don't. Instead I attach it to a small hole that is on the bracket that holds the tow ball (this is a Whitter towbar on a Pathfinder). The problem is that the breakaway cable clamp is very hard to thread through this hole. So I was thinking of fixing some sort of shackle to the hole and attaching the cable to that. Do anyone know if this is still legal ie attaching the cable to an attachment rather than directly to the vehicle?
