Ah good evening Parksy I have just been reading a thread of yours elsewhere relating to speech therapy and I can honestly say from the last time I did a coach trip to the Black country museum and sitting with another driver who was eating a roar onion no less and then tells me he always eats them like an opple, therapy is a must.

By the way you are more than welcome to visit Buggram Hall its not too far from Gary in Daventry.

Regards Sir Roger

What ho Sir Rog

I'm glad that you've had chance to observe at close quarters the epicurian habits of Blackcountrymen whilst visiting our fine museum which is built upon what in earlier times was the municipal filter beds.

A friend of mine once worked there as what I will call a 'filter bed operative' and he dropped his jacket into the foul smelling sea of s..s..slurry.

He retrieved it and when I remarked that surely he wasn't going to wear it after it had been in the 'you know what' he replied that he would no longer wear the jacket but he'd had to get it back because his sandwiches were in the pocket.

They have a pub on the Black Country Museum which once stood elsewhere in the region.

The chainmakers and forge workers were so tough that they didn't buy pork scratchings in a bag they just kept a pig and a cheese grater in the bar. Anyone with two ears was regarded as a nancy boy in those days.

As you know Sir Roger, I'm part of the Black Country branch of the Daventry posse so if perchance I pass through Daventry I'd be very happy to call in for a cup of Earl Grey and a slice of pigs pudding.
