Yes I did Brian.

I liken dog fighting owners and spectators to paedophiles. They cohearse (sp) dogs into fighting the same as some paedophiles force young children to engage in sexual activity.

The BBC should be prosecuted for taking an alleaged 'pit bull type' into Liverpool when that breed is banned in England. How they could laughingly call it a BoxerxLabrador was amusing actually. That was done for the programme.

If these 'pit bulls' were viscious towards humans, why didn't they bite the reporters? the owners? the visitors to the breeding farms? the gamblers and spectators? They all gave the canine stance of being extremely excited to be with a human. Dog to dog aggression is totally 100% different to dog to human aggression and must not be confused.

Incidentially, most of the dogs I saw in that programme did not resemble the true 'pitbull' in terms of conformation. I would say they were in fact 'pit bull types'.

Some dogs have the potential in certain circumstances to bite people. Some dogs are encouraged to do so by their scum owners.

Dog fighting is barbaric but it seems to fulfill something within these people who participate in it. What pleasure these scum low lives get from it, I really don't know.

I have the same feelings to Hare Coursing and Badger Baiting. I saw an undercover programme on Badger Baiting and it was sickening and to be honest if I was there and had a gun in my hand I'm sure I'd have blasted those bass turds off the face of the earth.

One of the most saddening things about this programme is that it actually achieved nothing. It is just like most investigative journalism programmes. They do not stop these things happening and much of what is told is a "one sided" opinion that is obviously biased towards the thoughts of the programme makers. Of course a lot of what we saw on TV cannot be used as evidence in a court of law anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I do not support dog fighting or any cruelty to animals. However, it has been proven time and again the authorities place a very low priority on catching these people, mainly because the resources needed to collect evidence in such cases is not available. The punishment, if found guilty is usually only a fine.

The people involved in dog fighting know this and they will continue to carry on with their barbaric "sport?" in the full knowledge that if they are caught they will most likely get nothing more than a slap on the wrist or, as proven on last nights programme with the Gaelic footballer who was prosecuted, he got off with a fine and a ban on keeping dogs and even the ban was lifted on appeal.

It will not raise its head again until another child is mauled or killed.

Just heard:

The woman who was feeding the little white pup on her lap and they showed a picture of her husband (a black bloke with spikey hair).

They were on the Jeremy Kyle show about 3 to 4 weeks ago telling the whole world about their relationship problems.

Maybe the BBC have been contacting these sort of people to participate in programmes like the Pitbull programme...................

Unfortunately it is always the wrong dogs that get highlighted in these cases. I am sure that most dog owners will agree with me when i say, there are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Dogs can,t read the dangerous dogs act.

My mum worked for the RSPCA and in her time with them went weekley to visist a gipsey familey with an American pitbull.

He was a lovely animal and great with kids, he was registered but because of what he was, he was taken away. That was back in the eightys, don,t know if things have changed now but it seem that the dog haters have done their best to get rid of them only to drive the bad people underground, making a marked breed even more tumultuous.

Good post there Diane. p.s. Sorry about the misunderstanding last night.

My little dog (Gaylord) laid his life on the line for me during the early hours of Wednesday. I wasn't going to mention it but if it wasn't for him, who knows if I would be here today writing this.

And he did that because he loves and respects you. Because like you daughter you have brought him up as one of your family and just like Emma, you have corrected him when he is naughty.

Thanks Diane.

I don't really want to put the full details on here but it wasn't nice.
