I just wondered whether the forum owners will be sticking with this Gravatar system and why not just use the conventional upload your own photo method?

Gravatar seems an unnecessary inconvenience to users and has already raised privacy issues on this new site.

I thought I would go along with it yesterday to try it out (I don't and wouldn't use it on my own website) and it works OK. BUT the same avatar then appears on any other website using Gravatar that I use the same email address for so, for example, I noticed that my company's online banking software is displaying my motorhome!! 😱hmy:

I haven't looked at other websites yet to see where else it now appears....
 
Hi Neil and thanks for the post. We are planning on sticking with it as we use it on other websites here and it sidesteps a few other technical matters at our end. However, if using it becomes a widespread issue, we could revise this.
