Avoiding Le Mans Race Week

Hi All
Have realised our trip to the Dordogne and the stopover near Le Mans will be during race week. Travelling from Calais can anyone advise a route and stopover site for a few nights avoiding Le Mans. Usually use toll roads so budget holiday accordingly but is there a section South that is toll free?

Calais, Rouen, Chartres, Orleans, Vierzon, Limoges, Brive, for Perigeux/Bergerac or Souillac for Sarlat/area in the Dordogne! Easy. Nice stopover at Vatan - municipal site, easy access from the A20 coming from the north, and access back south once you leave the site, good big pitches, easy access to the pitches, friendly reception, village shops nearby, walks around the lake in the evening. Cheap fuel at the Intermarche on the way south down to the A20. Mostly toll-free, too!
If you don't make it as far as Vatan there are sites at Orleans, Salbris, and Vierzon - all muncipal sites, and all good for an overnight stop.

Good municipal site at Salbris. We had a couple of nights there last year on our way back to Calais. Try and get lakeside pitch my husband likes fishing so enjoyed the last couple of days of our holiday relaxing before getting the ferry home.
