Avondale Argente damp!

I have just exchanged my Argente for an Abbey Freestyle 620. On looking round my immaculate hardly used 2004 van, the dealer reported damp 'off the scale' in the bathroom and along front of lounge. I was horrified as didn't know but think that surely with new materials and technology damp should be a thing of the past!? After having it serviced for first two years, last year we were going to change van as usual after 2 years, but as our local dealer didnt have suitable van, we put it off and actually forgot about 3rd service!! Consequently when looking again, liked Abbey from a different dealer to our local. We were put in very embarrassing and upsetting position. Maybe local dealer might have helped as have been good customers. Any way a warning to Avondale owners to check van, as we were told it was so bad and it hadn't just happened!! Also they said it was very commen in that make. Has anybody else experienced this?
