I'm the neew owner of a Avondale Perle adonis and would like to check the exact date of manufacture. Is anyone familiar with the coding on the plate over door inside. I am also having problem getting the gas fire to light and is there a special setting.
 
Dermotr try ringing Avondale - we did that when we wanted to date our Perle, turned out it is a 76 model - give them the number above the door and they will very helpfully give you all the details.

The year is hidden in those numbers somewhere btw at least two of the digits refer to the year it was made.

I too found Avondale very helpful. They not only sent me a copy of the manual for my 1991 Leda Mendip but a brochure from that time as well.

On mine the first two digits are the year of manufacture but that may not be the same on yours.
