We have a 2015 Coachman 575/4 and want to buy an awning. The gap between the door and the window to the front is too narrow for a porch awning and its foam and pole that sits against the van. (We had a porch before on our last van). We don't really want a full awning, nor do we want a porch/half awning to come down across the window. Has anyone any suggestions ? I wondered if they made an awning that fitted the front channel like a full awning but stopped short like a porch before the back of the van.

Hi Pinto, I have a 2012 Coachman 560, two awnings a Swift air 260 which the front pad and pole just fits between the door and window, and the back pad just about passes the bedroom window( you can open the window, but it scrapes the edge), but the locker door under the bed is blocked by about a foot, thats no problem as having bungee ties they are easily moved.
The other awning is a go outdoors carbon light which goes from between the door and front window to the back of the van. So probable a 290 width would be your best bet, I wish I had gone for that.maybe put the 260 up for sale at the end of this year, or sell it in France later in August.
Hutch.

I think you may need a combi awning,we made one from an Isabella and had it professionally finished at Canvas repair center.Ours goes from the back to the door but the principle is the same.If you go to
http://www.canvasrepaircentre.com/awning-gallery and scoll down there is one that I think is what you mean, the tenth one down, combified awning.

Thanks for both those replies. Our van has a transverse bed so on the nearside of the van there is just the door, the front side window and nothing else bar the locker door to access under the bed. (and the fridge outlet) The combi awning looks like the sort of thing we would be thinking of. We use our awning for storage basically - wet coats, wellies, feed the dogs, etc. we don't eat in the awning or sit out there in loungers etc which is why a full one would be a waste. I have to admit also that we are not the most adept at putting them up :-(
I'll have a look at both of your suggestions and maybe contact canvas repair centre for some more info.
