Hello i am new to this site so please forgive me if i have posted this in the wrong place!
We will be picking up our Senator Wyoming caravan on Friday but it does not come with an awning. There are a few for sale on EBay. One is £750.00 and the measurements are from 1036cm-1060cm. We need 1042cm....would this one fit or be too large?
Sorry if this is a stupid question to ask ,but we dont want to make a costly mistake.
Thanks in advance.
Donna

Hi Donna
I have a Series 6 Wyoming. Bailey's handbook recommends a 1090cm for this model. Isabella actually made this exact size in the Capri Lux range. If you are buying a different series model then check the handbook as the series 6 Wyomings did require a larger awning than the series 5.
Most awning manufacturers factor in size ranges so the range you mention of 1036-1060 will be fine if your actual requirement is 1042cm . It is extremely rare to buy an awning exactly to the measurement. However if necessary there are a number of companies who will alter the size for a reasonable fee.

Hi Donna,
The only thing I'd add to the good idvice you've already been given, is that make sure that you actually need all the space a big awning will provide.
When we bought our Wyoming last year, I jumped straight it and bought a full size awning. Whilst it is handy when all the family visit and we need the extra living/sleeping space, really for a good 80% of the time we only use a smaller porch type awning - which is big enough for a table and a few chairs along with coats/wellies etc.
The other thing is the weight and size when packed of a full size awning for your caravan. With steel poles it is at least a two man job to carry. I have split all the parts into three large holdall type bags and it is as much as I can do to carry the ones with poles in. So maybe consider getting lightweight ones? We have a 4x4 Isuzu for towing, so weight isn't an issue, but do give it some consideration.
Good luck and congratulations on choosing the Wyoming!
Regards,
Steve

Hi Steve
A very good point. When we tour, staying no longer than a week at a site we always take the Izzy Magnum porch awning. So simple to erect, I can do it myself!
The Capri Lux only comes out for long stays. In fact on reflecton we do find the porch Magnun more than adequate. OMG, You've got me wondering if I still need the Capri Lux

hiya, i have the same caravan as you and alan and the same 2 awnings as alan. over the last few weeks i also have been ? myself the same question as Alan was just thinking. do i really need my capri lux?. its used once a year at hillhead for 3 weeks but thats it. the magnum is used most of the time. to be honest i love the look of the magnum more and its my fav if im honest. i have the isi magnum a with a tall annex so maybe i could manage with the magnum and the annex if not maybe 2 annex for the magnum.
food for thought
alan is also correct on the special awning made for the senator series 6 by isabella.
let us know what you do
