awning lighting

Hi everyone,

I just wondered if you have any good ideas for lighting the awning for the now cooler summer evenings? I figures LED strips would look cool, but I wonder if you have anything better. Here is what I found so far, are they any good?

I use a 5 metre LED Strip Light Starter Pack,just Google it,you can add extra sections it can use 12v or mains,i only use the one very bright.Not cheap but will last

We have just swapped the awning/external light for a G4 LED light - they have to be the flat type on ours to shine in the right direction.

You would need to check to see what type you have.

Light is slightly less but not a cold colour.

Hi Joe.

We find tht Led lights are a kinda cold light, so if you want cool, then perhaps that is just the ticket.

We use a low energy lightbulb (globe type) in an overhead pendant light with a nice shade, which we hang over the table making it quite a nice atmosphere in the awning in the evening, just as you would at home. We purchased a length of cable and a light fitting and plug from B&Q and made it up ourselves in 5 minutes. It has drawn some nice comments too, and of course uses very little electricity.

Thanks guys, I think I'll go for the strips then, cause g4s would be too little I think.
