could anyone tell me how to measure up for a new awning my has just blown down and trashed it stupid wind

With your caravan on level ground, take a long piece of string and take it from the ground directly below the awning channel, up and along the channel, then down to the ground again on the other side. Measure the string and that gives you the size of awning you need.
