I have a pyramid corsican awning which is excellent value for money but the poles are steel and VERY heavy is there a supplier who would make up a set of either carbon fibre or aluminium

Have you tried contacting Pyramid Awnings?

Alternatively, measure them and see what eBay has to offer.

We have steel poles and, although heavy, we are very glad of them when the weather gets stormy!

How big is the awning, I was told that anything over 950 should have steel poles and to be honest there is not a lot of diffrnce in the weight, i was suprised as I thought they would be much heavier than my old fiber glass poles.

My Isabella 1050cm came with carbon fibre poles, my previous steel poles were so heavy that I could not even lift them without separating them into four individual packages.

My awning is 950-1000cm and i have asked pyramid to supply but they dont do poles seperately from awnings.

Carbon fibre x poles are much stronger than steel, and much lighter.

We have a 1090 Izzy with carbon. No problems at all. The steel version was way too heavy.

Who told you steel only for above 950 was talking rubbish!

Cheers

Hi

We have a Bradcot Classic 1020 with carbon fibre poles. I believe these are the same make as the ones used by Isabella. I really like these poles - lighter than steel but stronger than alloy. Our last similar size awning had alloy poles and these bent badly in a storm.
