awning rail leak

The other day I was on site when we had a heavy downpour and I noticed the rain was dripping off the beading which the awning poles pads attach to the caravan sidewall. Would this be coming via the caravan awning rail. I did have the awning poles tensioned and was wondering if I'd overstretched the fabric in some way. Any ideas?

Yes been used three times NR Pulman on 2006 Pageant Bordeaux

Hi Catsparkey,

New awnings tend to leak when first used in the rain, this is quite normal.

However, the material will then "swell" slightly and this should no longer be a problem.

Is this the first time it has been wet?

Yes its the first time in a downpour.Thanks for your help I'll take note the next time I feed it through the rail.
